Watch a Mobile Dental Visit
We provide our partner school districts state mandated screenings and in school preventative dental services (throughout the school year).
Stated Mandated School Screenings:
- Kindergarten, Third & Seventh graders who have not returned their private dentist report of dental examination.
- Each session is approximately two hours in length, serving an average of 50-75 student screenings per hour.
- Volume of kids to be screened determines number of sessions per school.
- Schools are invoiced a fee per session.
- Our Dentist completes the dental screening forms and returns to the school nurse.
- All services are provided by licensed Pennsylvania dentists
Preventative Dental Services (exam, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride, oral hygiene instructions and sealants)
- Open to all grades at no cost to the school (students insurance is billed), A registration form is required for treatment. Our form captures consent to treatment, student’s health history, and insurance information;
- If a student does not have dental insurance, Family First Health insurance eligibility staff will work to educate the student’s parents with potential insurance options and assist them with enrolling in a qualified insurance plan;
- Services are delivered via three visits spaced throughout the school year. This allows students to receive the recommended two dental visits per year during the school year without needing to leave the building.
- 1st visit: Exam, x-rays, cleaning and fluoride varnish
- 2nd visit: Hands on brushing and flossing instruction; sealant placement when applicable
- 3rd visit: 6 month exam and cleaning
Once treated with the Mobile School Dentist Program, the student becomes a dental patient of Family First Health.
For dental needs that cannot be met in the school setting we offer appointments at one of our conveniently located offices. (York, Hanover, Columbia and Gettysburg). These visits are subject to standard Family First Health operating processes and procedures for billing rates and payment schedules;
All services are provided by licensed Pennsylvania dentists, EFDA’s, and hygienists as well as by other dental professionals in training while under the supervision of licensed staff.
